RFQ for solar array
A qualified satsearch buyer has submitted an RFQ for a solar array.
The required solar array will need to operate approximately 65% of the orbital period (est. hour) to sustain platform housekeeping, payload, and orbital maneuver operations.
The mission analysis considers a near-constant 60-degree incidence angle, between the solar array normal vector and the sun vector.
The system should meet the following technical requirements:
- Minimum power consumption (EOL) at worst case scenario: 250W
- Incidence angle (worst case scenario): 60 degrees
- Stowed configuration physical constraints: Space Falcon9 Rideshare Half-Plate (15-inch interface)
- Platform dimensions: 1000x600x480 mm
- Stowed solar array configuration constraints (maximum): Height: 1100mm, Length: 700-690mm, Width: 60-75mm
- Bus Voltage: 28 V unregulated
Lifetime and reliability requirements
The equipment shall be able to perform for 5 years in a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) as mentioned above. For such lifetime, the TID requirement shall be ~15krad (Si) or better. In case the supplier cannot meet this requirement, the buyer is still interested to know the product specifications and capabilities to assess potential workarounds for such limitation.
A flight model is required by August 2024
Bid instructions
The items to be delivered are the following (please note that if any kind of driver or any software is required, it needs to be included in the delivery package):
- COTS units with demonstrated flight heritage.
- Technical Proposal: describing the system physical configuration, electrical interfaces, and status of compliance with the requirements described in this RFI.
- Commercial Proposal: ROM price for the options presented in the Technical Proposal and delivery time.
