Summary

Texas Instruments (TI) is a global semiconductor manufacturing company with expertise in analog and embedded processing chips. The company was founded in 1930 headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

TI offers approximately 80,000 products targeting markets such as automotive, industrial, communications equipment, personal electronics and enterprise systems. The company has operated in the space market for more than 60 years and has supported many domestic and international space programs.

Texas Instruments offer a comprehensive range of radiation hardness assured (RHA) and QMLV products for space applications. The products are designed to provide improved integration, greater power density, higher bandwidth (>7GHz), and higher precision accuracy.

TI's space-graded products include data converters, current sense amplifiers, digital output temperature sensor, motor control, power management, clock and timing, interfaces, amplifiers and comparators, embedded processing and memory, motor control, and logics.

The products are designed for best-in-class Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) and radiation performance. The TI space portfolio offers a full signal-chain solution including fast discrete SerDes, small RHA point-of-load power solutions and some of the world’s highest performance data converters.

Production, testing and inspection facilities

There are 15 manufacturing sites globally including employees in Europe, Asia-Pacific and The Americas with 11 wafer fabs, seven assembly and test factories, and multiple bump and probe facilities.

Testing and qualifications

TI’s space products are Radiation Hardness Assured (RHA) per MIL-STD-883 (Method 1019), MIL-PRF-38535 QML Class V. The Total Ionizing Dose (TID) and Single Event Effects (SEE) characterization tests reports are also available for the products with information on the potential product degradation in a space environment.
